CRITICAL FINDING: THE CIPHER HAS A PRELOADED LATTICE DEPENDENCY ================================================================================ Date: 2026-04-04 Author: Jonathan Shelton Status: CRITICAL — affects the integrity of the entire test chain ================================================================================ THE PROBLEM ================================================================================ The cipher claims: Z → frequency → geometry EMERGES → properties. What we actually tested in HPC-033: Z → looked up known crystal structure → built that geometry → ran frequency through it → measured properties. The GEOMETRY was an INPUT, not an OUTPUT. The lattice was pre-assigned from crystallographic data. This is an external dependency at the deepest level. HPC-033 tells us what known geometries SOUND LIKE. It does NOT tell us what geometry a frequency PRODUCES. These are fundamentally different questions. WHY THIS MATTERS ================================================================================ The HPC-033 data is still VALUABLE — it reveals: - Coherence = conductivity ranking - Compressed doublet = magnetism - Frequency guillotine = band gap - Waveguide channels = selective conduction - Two-pendulum beat = superconductivity These findings about HOW geometry produces properties are real. The mechanisms are geometric truths regardless of how we got the geometry into the simulation. BUT: the claim that the cipher can predict properties from Z ALONE requires the geometry to EMERGE from the frequency. If we pre-assign the geometry, we are testing: "given the correct crystal structure, can we predict properties?" Not: "given only Z, can we predict EVERYTHING?" The first question is useful. The second is the cipher's claim. WHAT NEEDS TO HAPPEN ================================================================================ SIM-003 is the simulation that addresses this. It starts from f|t and lets geometry crystallize. The versions so far (v1 through v8) have struggled with: - 3D geometry not forming (spherical symmetry artifact) - Energy dilution (point source spreading isotropically) - Insufficient cycles for crystallization - Computational cost of resolving lattice-scale geometry But the MECHANISM for crystal genesis IS in the theory: f|t pulse → 2D hexagonal interference → overflow → 3D crystal forms from the cascade The hypothetical test CANNOT be done by pre-assigning geometry. It must be done by running the Compton frequency through the crystal genesis simulation and seeing what emerges. For known elements: the emergent geometry should MATCH the known crystal structure. This validates both the cipher AND the simulation. For hypothetical frequencies: whatever geometry emerges IS the prediction. No external data to compare against. THE HONEST STATE ================================================================================ The cipher currently has THREE levels of external dependency: 1. REMOVED (this session): NIST SO thresholds → Replaced by eigenvalue susceptibility (self-derived) 2. REMOVED (this session): Melting point calibration coefficients → Replaced by eigenvalue gap tolerance (self-derived) 3. STILL PRESENT: Pre-assigned lattice geometries → The geometry itself comes from crystallographic data → Needs SIM-003 (crystal genesis) to remove The cipher is CLOSER to self-contained than before. But it is not there yet. The lattice geometry is the last and deepest external dependency. DO NOT CLAIM SELF-CONTAINMENT UNTIL SIM-003 PRODUCES GEOMETRY. OUTPUT-AGNOSTIC. DATA SHOWS WHAT IT SHOWS. ================================================================================
