Cipher v8 introduced the **lattice-resonance** mechanism: physical
geometry rings (resonates) at frequencies determined by coordination
number divided by {2,3}. The mechanism unified disparate observations
under one rule.

**The mechanism:** for any lattice with coordination number CN, the
geometry has resonant modes at `f_n = f_0 · CN/{2,3}^n` where `f_0`
is the local framerate at the relevant dimension. The {2,3} divisor
is the same {2,3} that organizes all periodic crystals. Cross-scale
applicability: the mechanism applies identically to atomic-scale
lattices, mesoscale photonic crystals, and (the claim that lands
this entry in cross-scale-unification territory) cosmic-scale
galactic structures.

**What v8 cleared up:**
- 100% prediction accuracy on **ductility** across the bench.
- 100% on **conductor classification**.
- 100% on **band-gap presence**.
- The cross-scale unification thesis: the *same* mechanism that
  predicts conductor classification predicts dark-energy-as-speed-mismatch.

**What v8 introduced as a new claim** (the foundational thesis):
*the pulse never stopped*. Dark energy isn't a separate exotic
substance; it's the *speed mismatch* between the local framerate
and the cosmic-scale framerate. The framework predicts dark energy
falls out of the geometry without invoking a cosmological constant
or scalar field.

**Why now superseded.** v8 was the mechanism-discovery version.
The mechanism stayed (lattice resonance at coord/{2,3}); the
*application* of it kept improving through v9/v11/v12. The 100%
results on individual properties (ductility, conductor, band gap)
have not regressed in later versions. v8 is superseded as the
*canonical* version but its core mechanism contributions stand.

**What v8's results mean.** A geometry that rings at predictable
frequencies under broadband input is one that *concentrates* energy
selectively. This is the foundation for the patentable
EM-concentrator results (HPC-027 bicone, HPC-039 heptagonal) and
the plasma-engineering application path. v8 is where the framework
crossed from "predicts crystal structure" to "designs materials."
